  1. Singapore doesn't do fine. It's the only first world country besides the U.S. with an unacceptably huge wealth gap. It's the only first world country with a larger wealth disparity than the U.S.

  2. kathy kelly Many of those poor countries are egalitarian and little or no agriculture to create social stratification.

  3. Cultural differences. Some people like being in foraging tribes instead of greedy agricultural city state cultures from which civilization emerged. Having a wide wealth gap breeds corruption anyway. We need more socialism to force things to be more equal. This way technology can advance because impoverished but intelligent people won't be stuck doing menial tasks while some wealthy useless troglodyte sits on his behind. Yes, I do hate most rich people. Especially rich people who I consider to be less intelligent or less talented. What a waste. Money going to somebody like that!
