  1. It's OK to break certain social norms if you don't understand the reason for them or if you think they're stupid. Go ahead and tell people that you think their customs are silly and you refuse to participate in such drivel. You might come off as a rebellious jerk but you might make other people realize that they don't have to do something just because it's considered the norm.
