  1. The Romans celebrated Saturnalia on the 17th and gift giving was common on Saturnalia just like it is on Christmas. Not once has anybody wished me a happy Saturnalia on the holidays. As an ancient Roman I'm offended by this. More offended than any Christian who thinks everybody should be offended when people say happy holidays instead of merry Christmas.
