By waving that big flag every horrible opinion sounds patriotic to an audience with no critical thinking skills. "We're gonna give tax cuts to rich people and raise taxes on everybody else. America is a meritocracy even though it doesn't look like one. Don't question me. I'm a patriot. Look at the red, white, and blue. You're getting sleepy. Your eyes are now red white and blue. So patriotic." And that's how Fox News brainwashed half of America.
