Most Trump supporters allow others to do their thinking for them. It's a top down method. The crazy church preacher tells them to support Trump, the crazy uncle tells them to support Trump, and then their own parents become Trump supporters for really bad reasons and so they feel like they have to support him too because all the dumb authority figures in their sad lives from their preacher to their parents support Trump. They're very much like children in regards to their overreliance on what parents and other figureheads in their lives think.
