I personally think you'd be doing society a favor if you just killed those kinds of folks. They should give you a medal for killing the town jackass.

  3. Actually it's the opposite. Academics teach critical thinking and the importance of peer review. Citing appropriate sources is important as lay people are often idiots who should never be cited. Would you rather live in the Dark Ages where everyone decided to "burn the witch" because they blindly believed that witches were real based on rumours?

  7. I've told younger generations that they're deprived when it comes to culture. Has Gen Z even seen the classics like The Wizard of Oz the way previous generations have? Cultural decline is one of the first things that happens before a civilization collapses.

  9. The entire media today is designed for confirmation bias. You've got radio stations that almost exclusively air conservative talk shows and little else. Cable opinion news stations like Fox News and MSNBC that only air rightwing or leftist views. And on top of that we indeed have the social media algorithm as you say, which puts people into crazy echo chambers.
