I'm sure there are very real and very scary edge cases where this is a real danger, but realistically the economics aren't there for a bad actor to harvest massive amounts of data and sit on it—paying for storage!—for over a decade, hoping they aren't discovering or the data invalidated in the meantime.

  3.  @Sven_Dongle  (1) Did you follow the Qualcomm v ARM spat? That had a lot of chipmakers worried; (2) Softbank has been actively looking to sell ARM, and so who knows what ARM's new owner might do? If nothing else, having RISC-V on the market is good competition.
