  1. Maybe I've drunk too much Kanban-flavored Kool-aid, but I don't buy that lean/JIT is why we have this crisis. Lean shouldn't mean fragile--in business-speak, it's usually equated with AGILE. Explicitly: If these companies were truly embracing Agile (TM) methodology and, when confronted with an obstacle, would pivot to circumvent the problem. In other words, we'd see more of the approach mentioned at 10:19--not enough processors? Build cars with fewer processors!
