I was having fun right up until the DeLorean. The only legitimate reason to spend that much is if you're a movie studio trying for a reboot and somehow don't have access to the OG.

@sategllib2191 It's not really an issue of inflation in the usual sense--it's a symptom of income inequality that the rich can afford to spend ludicrous amounts of money on collectibles and thus inflate those markets (which, btw, are inflated regardless of the currency) as opposed to goods associated with cost of living, which is what inflation generally focuses on. That is not to say that the cost of living hasn't skyrocketed, but even there it's defying usual conventions in that the issue is in the low-ends of the market--there are more luxury apartments than ever in the country while affordable housing stock has basically been erased, and the markets reflect that. I'm quibbling because the usual answers to inflation--raising interest rates--will likely only hurt those who are hurting already without doing much to tamp down the extremes that we're actually experiencing.
