Check out any electronics-focused maker channel (start with Great Scott--built his own Tesla PowerWall--and DIY Perks--water-cooled a Canon DSLR) and you'll find examples of folks tearing down and upgrading components in electronic devices, or just swapping in 3D printed or otherwise DIY parts. As long as we have Right to Repair, the electric-modding future looks as bright as the arc from a Tesla coil.
