@betablockrr The funny thing is that Windows is the only non-enterprise OS that's not free! I'm not sure what the current state of Hackintoshing is, but I honestly don't care given how horrible "macOS" has gotten--when I want the "true OSX experience" I just install elementaryOS

@betablockrr Haha, I mean, in a world without Linux I'm probably going with Haiku or FreeBSD, but I take your point.

@topherfungus8424 It's funny because I started reading up on Arch when I got the Steam Deck and my personal experience was that the Arch folks were the much less toxic (and much more self-effacing) than what I'd encountered on Ubuntu forums or r/linux overall. It does seem like my experience is atypical, though. Thinking back, this was around the time some bad official package update borked a lot of people's systems--maybe the trolls were all trying to repair their bootloaders.
