@kunns123 I don't know that there's a central registry, but I've definitely seen projects post "bounties" for contributions.

@phantomofnyx As a Steam Deck user who has been getting a masochist thrill out of setting up compiler toolchains exclusively in userspace, I can't tell how much of your reply is humorous. 🤣

University of Texas Instruments. Coming out swinging I see.

I love how many comments are here defending kdenlive. I agree, btw. Way more stable and feature-rich than when I first tried it ca 2010. OTOH, my eight year old is now editing clips in Premiere Pro (educational licenses, man), and I asked how they learned how to do a cool effect and they said, "It was just obvious." Which is not something I have ever said about kdenlive or Cinelerra. Avidemux yes, but that's not what full NLE.

What do you consider a basement apartment?

@marshallsweatherhiking1820 You just need a proper cron job to back up this file periodically to an external storage medium. It's a simple terminal command. Here, let me grab it for you from StackOverflow.

Ah, the vi user has entered the chat. I made a choice a few years ago about whether to use vim or emacs. The decider was that whereas being productive in emacs relied on lugging around your configuration file, with vim you could be at home on any computer you ever logged into, right out of the box. So here I am years later starting every new setup process by FTPing my .vimrc and then struggling when I realize that vim-plug isn't installed or vim wasn't compiled with python-3.6 support (for :Black).

@4.0.4 As it should--the whole concept is ridiculous

I think he's too old to pull off a convincing ten-year-old Roblox developer. Maybe he has nieces or nephews? 🔥 Just teasing--I know there are plenty of other people who use Lua. That being said, doing video on Lua in 2023 without mentioning Roblox would be as criminal as, well, a lot of the things I've seen on Roblox.

@angrysnek4445 It's Capital One (more of a credit card company with a bank attached, but yeah). Still the best place I ever worked.

The only thing worst than JIRA is having no kanban board at all. ZenHub is still OP.

@moritzmolle6609 I was going to counter that it's not part of arch-base, but it looks like that's just because they use vim-minimal instead.

A sexually transmitted illness. I hear it's terminal.

@darukutsu Wait, I thought it was ButterFS that was the magic sauce.

@swolebro Docker would definitely be the way to go if I wanted to host this on a server--turns out my full script can be fully stateless, so it's the perfect use case for docker + kubernetes + autoscaling--but I don't want to manage an infrastructure or deal with hosting services or even AWS lambda fees, so unless you can package a docker container into a stand-alone dependency and runtime-free executable, I'm looking at just grabbing ffmpeg binaries for as many platforms as I can.

All the games he mentions not working are Gold or Platinum on protondb, I think...

@monad_tcp Yep. Firing 70% of your workforce is a genius business move. Just ask anyone left at Twitter.

Cinelerra? Because that's what I used twelve years ago. Apparently it forked itself to death. Honestly, I've been pretty satisfied with kdenlive.

@pernydev6844 Oh wow, yeah. If you pull up the all-time view, that's Paypal's stock ticker (and the number on the screen is their price as of whenever this was filmed).

1:59 Love that you couldn't get that out without spitting up a little bit
