  1. It's really insidious why that's the case—it's because all the college and online courses are for the Adobe CS. And why are all the courses and tutorials for Adobe software? Because of those dang "educational licenses." Adobe follows the same business model as your local crack dealer—the first hit is on the house.

  2. I ran Photoshop 7.0 (legally obtained and everything!) in WINE up through 2022. Finally made the switch to GIMP (which, at some point in the last decade, finally overtook PS7 in terms of functionality and even user-friendliness!)

  3. Off-topic, but good on you for focusing on a really good use for a transformer model. Mozilla is similarly developing an opt-in system that runs on your local for generating alt text for images—massive win for the visually impaired. Even more off topic: if DaVinci Resolve is working great for you, that's awesome! But Kdenlive has gotten so much better in terms of stability compared to where it was ca 2010 (when I went with Cinelerra—RIP—instead).
