  1. I'm a vocal advocate of test-driven development, where you write tests before you write the implementation. I strongly believe in implementation-driven testing, were you add more tests based on concerns you have about your code's edge conditions. I firmly enforce that bugfix contributions must add additional tests that cover the issue. I evangelize meta-tests, because nothing is worse than having a blind spot caused by your tests not testing what you think they're testing. In short, my ideal codebase is 90% test, 10% implementation.

  2. I can't stand Dolphin. I'm spoiled by Elementary Files, but outside of Pantheon I use Thunar or nemo.

  3. I'd still be using Haswell if I didn't need more than 32GB of memory. My 4790K is is not meaningfully slower in single-thread than my 5900X. CPUs haven't gotten meaningfully faster in the last decade, just denser and more efficient.
