  1. As much as the headline is HDR, it's still wild to me that they made the Deck's APU more efficient given that the OG Deck is still the performance-per-Watt champion under 10W PPT.

  2. So along those lines: one of Valve's talking points with the Deck was that it should serve as a reference implementation of what a Linux handheld should be (something that Wayland lacks). What's shocking is that after all this time we still don't have a competitor in the Linux handheld space, even though Windows is 🐶💩 on handhelds and (with Buster having been released this year), literally any maintained Linux distro will work out-of-the-box on the 7040/Z1.
