  1. elementaryOS is still on track for elementary 8 to be Wayland-first. Dock is done (and has Wayland-friendly animations!) and pretty much the entire DE has been ported to GTK4. Their WM recently pulled a bunch of improvements from upstream mutter. Honestly, IBM pulling the rug out from under Xorg is proving to be a pretty enormous positive for the Linux ecosystem.
