  1. Danielle Foré also announced a few days ago that elementaryOS 8 (due out in late 2024) will be Wayland. And critically, even if you don't care about Pantheon, that means they're working on a new dock.

  2. The fact that everyone's jumping onto Wayland—even / especially stalwarts like Fedora—is extremely promising. These aren't just niche/expert distributions anymore. And since all this development is happening out in the open, it's not like these distros are going to ship in broken states—if Wayland hits a critical blocker, then we'll see people walk this back.

  3. And they're advertising HDR support on the Deck's new HDR LED panel. Which should make every Linux user excited.
