Comments by "Gilad Barlev" (@GSBarlev) on "Weirdest "Open Source" Software Licences" video.
Serious comment: I will die on the hill that CC-NC licenses are worse for Open Source than any of the licenses on this list. Joke comment: 4:24 SMDH discriminating against the fine software devs in the Small Magellanic Arm...

That would violate the sole restrictive terms of the license which say you cannot remove the freedom of anyone in the Milky Way from contributing to the repo.

As someone who is not socially inclined, I'd be happy to license a project under the optional condition of "buying Brodie Robertson (of Linux YouTube fame) a cider"

I'm forking your license and creating the Aggressive Tolerance license—this software may only be used by individuals who have nothing but love and respect for all their fellow humans. This explicitly bars racists and white supremacists—I hate those people! 😡 (because Internet, this is a joke. It's inspired by ripping off the introduction to the Tom Lehrer song "National Brotherhood Week")

@dispatch-indirect9206 It's actually more nefarious than that—strict interpretation of NC means: - I can't distribute this content from my own site if I serve ads, even if the ads don't actually cover the server costs - I can't use this content as sample assets in a training I teach to my OnlyFans Patreon members - I can't post a video containing the content to YouTube, because YouTube may make revenue from it! I don't really think most people using CC-BY-NC really intend those restrictions—I think they're just trying to prevent people from selling their art on Redbubble—and CC really needs a new variant that's better thought out.
