  2. My advice: go look up some old Steam Hardware Surveys and look at what the most popular build was of 2018. Now look at how many AAA games have baseline system requirements greater than that. On the GPU side, it's a few AAA games from 2023 and practically nothing from earlier. On the CPU side, you could honestly still be fine with a chip from 2013. That is all to say: it is highly unlikely that the Steam Deck won't be able to keep up over the next five years of game development, and given AMD's track record—especially on Linux—we can realistically expect the existing hardware to perform better in 2028 than it does today.
