  2. God, baloo can be such a resource hog. I don't typically use KDE, but I remember digging into performance issues on my Steam Deck and asking myself, "What the grep is baloo and why is it taking up so many IOPS?"

  4. I run a lot of software exclusively in userspace (conda environments, for example), and my PATH includes .local/bin , so noexec'ing ~ would completely break my workflows. I definitely think noexecing ~/Downloads should be the default, though.
