@yourlinuxguy Yep. To really turn the screw, in their exit interview they'll tell you they're letting you go because you're not "delivering your own results" and point to your mentees as paragons of productivity.

I tried the chainsaw PR once. With the lead developer of Minecraft for a side-project he wrote in (poorly formatted) Python. My actual contribution was a small bugfix, but since I have pre-commit and black baked into my .vimrc (I use Arch, btw) it ended up rewriting his entire repo. He took one look at the PR, cursed me out for completely rewriting his code, and rejected my PR on the spot. Lo and behold, the project is now abandoned.

fr while YouTube Premium is essentially ransomware given the toxicity of the ads* the convenience over managing a PiHole is kinda worth it. Anyway, agree with what you said about the smoothness of the transition. I wonder if he could pull it off with "Raid: Shadow Legends" or Manscaped. *I get it bundled for free with my Google One ransomware subscription I paid for when they turned off unlimited email and optimized photo storage, as the alternative would have been deleting millions of emails Google had been telling me to "just archive" since 2004...

@stickguy9109 There are open source / open hardware "hackerlab" volunteers out in the world setting up ESP32 soil moisture sensors over LoRa-WAN networks and posting about it once a month when they come into town to access the internet. They are the true giga-chads of the world.
