What frustrates me about comments like this is that quotes wrongly attributed to Lincoln and Einstein are, in fact, wrongly attributed to Mark Twain! 😉

@andressigalat602 in other words, "A Einstein?"

I wanted to know where this quote originated (expecting some 19th century romantic) and was wildly disappointed that the original is attributed to Hank Green. But then I dug further and found that, in keeping with the theme of the opener, it's a misattribution (he popularized it but didn't originate it)!

@Rockyzach88 I'm 90% sure that the OC is aware is just razzing Angela's impostor syndrome.

She covered this in depth in another video, and while I was initially pretty... defensive? about the interpretation, because—hey, the math works—her larger point about "unphysical" solutions to equations (like Dirac Holes) has ultimately won me over and disabused me of much of my juvenile Feynman Fanboism.

I get why they didn't, but I wish they'd kept the original¹ names for the heaviest quarks—Truth and Beauty. Because then we could have had jokes about Keats' Theorem describing their equivalence: "Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all. Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know." ¹Might not have actually pre-dated Top and Bottom.

@siruv193 Yeah, from what I've managed to glean: 1. They didn't want to name a fundamental particle Truth for the same reason everyone ended up resenting the people who popularized the Higgs Boson's nickname: "The God Particle." 2. The majority of the particle physics community was very much the Mean Girls meme: "Stop trying to make [Truth/Beauty] happen, because it's not going to happen."
