  1. Oh, so glad this isn't about "panspermia." I never liked life here began out there theory—mainly because the evidence is so sparse, partially because it doesn't explain where that life originated, but also because it's one of those ideas that conspiracy theorists love to misinterpret and latch onto—and the Miller-Urey experiment demonstrated that life can arise without external "seeding," even if the precise conditions he was testing weren't the ones responsible in our particular case.

  2. With all of the Proboscidian recreations I've seen¹, I'm not sure why it never clicked for me before that elephant trunks didn't grow as much as lower jaws shrunk compared to its direct ancestors. Mind. Blown. ¹Shout-out for my shovel-faced son Platybeladon at 4:13
