@thorvaldurthorsson5652 Who are the "natives." Since the current Inuit people came after and since the Norse were first and some of their descendants still live on in Iceland, doesn't that mean the modern Icelanders and even more "native" than the Inuit?

@ambrosius Many people who can't trace their ancestors beyond the 1800's, assume that no one else can either. You have NO idea. Icelanders are probably the world's best geneologists (second, maybe, only to European nobility). They can trace all of their ancestors back to the settlement of Iceland, at least. I have Icelandic friends who can very easily trace their ancestry to Eric the Red and Leif Erikson. Though I'm not Icelandic, I can trace many of my Scandinavian ancestors back to the Viking period and beyond as well. Geneology is very important to Scandinavians. Just because YOU can't do something, don't assume the same for other people.
