The socialist entity between Italian fascism and National Socialism is different. The Italian fascism (in theory) would not need to remove any social class/ race from its society, while National Socialism would.
If they take over the bourgeois regime (they didn’t say physically eliminate them, which they did in real life, in the books) and establish a regime of dictatorship of proletarian and create a dictational national syndicate to regulate the interests and profits between every class (class collaboration) race and people within the nation, can let you distinguish Communist theory and Fascist theory.
Defeating the Jews/Communist/Capitalist Regime (they didn’t say physically eliminate them, which they did in real life, in the books) and establishing an Aryan Nation should also make Nazi theory distinguishable from Fascist Theory.
If the “American Fascism” in your context didn’t advocate for a dictational national syndicate regime that regulates the nation's economy activities (including public health care) or build a nation out of certain races, I think they are just racist, at most pro monopoly authoritarian capitalist, but not fascist or Nazi.
PS: all just in theory, all three ideologies lead to many atrocities and tragedies in real life.
