@acem82 This mindset can be easily bypassed by thinking you own (a part of) the state by paying tax, voting or actually running the governing machine directly or indirectly through influence.

@acem82 The term is “we,” the group of people that the altruistic individual is part of. Do those “altruistic” people just give away other people's tax money or surplus products? No, as they also contribute a very small portion of that group's income. They also give away their tax money or surplus products regardless of the difference in the amount they contribute and/or the externalities they experience compared to others.

@acem82 Again, those “altruistic” people also involuntarily “give” to the state; they can think in the position of the state/people collective instead of just themselves as an individual.

@acem82 taken by or give to the state regardless, they contributed to the society, and believe that their altruism can extend to the state/society collective they are part of.

@ Doesn't matter, “contribute” or contribute, it doesn't change my point.
1
@ Are you implying Church based charity can not also be defined as altruistic. Just because they get their donations from voluntary donations instead of involuntary tax it doesn’t change the fact that they don’t produce the money and goods they give to those who have need.

@The Decision of implementing Social Welfare program is also the voluntary act of the leaders of the state.

@ The decision of the state leaders is voluntary.
1
@ The will of the master is voluntary. Those who advocate to use their state money that are being tax from them involuntarily to help the people in need are also voluntary.

@acem82 People are not the Church or Charity Organisation too.

@acem82 I never heard any Church or Charity is democratic.
