  1. Samsung renamed 3nm to 2nm in March 2024. Samsung’s 2nm transistor density is 170 million/mm square, and TSMC’s 5nm transistor density is 173 million/mm square. Samsung’s 2nm is even worse than TSMC’s 5nm and is only equivalent to TSMC’s 5nm to 7nm. Intel's 18A transistor's density is estimated to be about 195 million/mm square, slightly higher than TSMC's 5nm and far lower than TSMC's 3 nm's 290 million/mm square. Regarding transistor density, Samsung's most advanced technology is close to TSMC's 5nm chip technology, and Intel's most advanced technology slightly exceeds TSMC's 5nm technology.
