TSMC, UMC, FOXCONN, and many other high-tech companies are almost all from other provinces in China. You don’t know anything about Taiwan. I assisted Taiwan Semiconductor in raising funds in 1987.

During World War II, Taiwan was a substantial military base for Japan, and the U.S. military carried out intensive bombings. All Japanese colonial railways, road construction, and economy were entirely destroyed by American bombing. After World War II, Taiwan did not even have an inch of railway. The construction during the Japanese colonial period has nothing to do with Taiwan's economic miracle. It was the ten major construction projects carried out in the 1960s, 15 years after World War II, that truly paved the way for Taiwan's economic miracle, leaving a lasting impression on the island's history.
