  1. The lie is that Thiel has (rightly) admitted that capitalism isn't compatible with democracy. So "making an argument" and "convincing people" are irrelevant. The people who are making the decisions are not susceptible to the will of the people, so you could convince as many people as you liked that M4A or something similar was the way forward. It wouldn't matter because neither party would offer it.
