This is exactly as Noam Chomsky describes. The liberal elite class exists to draw the boundaries of what the left is allowed to think and say and keep it within the neoliberal framework. The one thing they fear and hate most is politics framed by class, instead of their preferred cultural liberal/conservative axis.

Corporate media loves to bring on this hack "strategist" while completely skating past the fact that the Dems lost 1000 seats nationwide while he was on the team.🤦♂️
38
He even said "I haven't seen this empirically. No one will convince me otherwise"!! 🤦♂️ So he admits that it's an unsupportable faith belief before he even gets started! What a pathetic entitled loser.

I love The USA A non billionaire hating on a corrupt, cruel, broken and undemocratic system.
8
I've always made it a rigid policy to not "taunt the lord" 😂 Brilliant

NIN JAH No one wants communism. We want democracy and an economy that isn't constantly rigged to keep the workers poor while the rich scoop up ALL the winnings. Which btw has been going on for the last 40 years. Neoliberalism is a game where a rising tide lifts 1% of boats.
6
Yep. Especially when the people slip the leash of the media's propaganda and start thinking for themselves!
6
5:00 AG doesn't love MSNBC. He is clear on this to other audiences. He is trying to avoid alienating the host and the MSNBC audience. It's just a tactic.
6
It's bizarrely reminiscent of totalitarian propaganda. It doesn't matter what's true. It only matters what is correct.
6
Gabbard just dropped out of the race And endorsed Biden 🤦♂️
4
Tryllium T Exactly. He is much more harsh when he has the right audience.
4
Hmm, not in this case but have you seen him interview anyone about climate change? It's incredibly frustrating.
4
ProleCenter Oh, edgy! No he isn't you twit. He came into public life to protest against the Vietnam and has been against every US war since.
4
cesar leon Agreed. It's kind of amazing he got the editor at large job at Time. Not sure his that happened!
4
"You're working for me man!" "I don't work for..." Oops

"Aspirational" and the idea that "if you work hard, you will get rich" are the delusions that the rich and corporations like to feed regular people. 40% of the people can't afford a $400 expense. These people can aspire all they like. Nearly all of them are prevented from going anywhere by a broken capitalist system.
3
The new bill covers testing but not treatment. My cynical brain says that's so that wealthy people can be happy that the infected are off the streets but they don't have to care if they live or die.
2
90 years of anti-socialist propaganda is finally coming undone.
2
Great analysis of the New Deal. Unfortunately workers are not yet militant enough. And unfortunately too many Dem voters are still too attached to the Dems as a team, and don't like Bernie for attacking their team. It's tragic.
2
C'mon Jimmy. It's the meritocracy! 😂😂😂😂
2
Tellestus 0 His latest take on how Democrats need to take more corporate money is so unbelievably wrong tactically politically and morally, it's genuinely amazing. And his audience claps along 🤦♂️
2
I wish the union worker hadn't veered onto 2A when he had a great attack on establishment Dems destruction of unions.
1
Just worth noting that the CDC says this about transmission of COVID by vaccinated people "Infections with the Delta variant in vaccinated persons potentially have reduced transmissibility than infections In unvaccinated persons, although additional studies are needed."
1
His teleprompter went wrong. He was trying to get the next screen. And he is a glove puppet for the oligarchy so he doesn't have any clue what to say if he isn't scripted.
1
Jimmy, I don't think you can follow a piece on the spread of Coronavirus with an ad for your live shows. I know we all have to make a living but I don't think that's the way any more. Not for a whiles at least.
1
South Carolina, why weren't you watching?
1
Dennis also did a great interview on Useful Idiots with Matt Taibbi. Check that out. Well done on getting video working with Dennis :)

Katie's last point is really interesting. By his extremes and his indiscretion, Trump has actually exposed so much of what the media does to support the establishment and MIC in EXACTLY the way that Chomsky describes. Trump can't help saying the quiet part out loud. I think the best example to date is saying that the US will leave troops in Syria because US oil majors want the oil. He didn't even bother to dissemble. He said it explicitly. Did the media freak out at US servicemen putting their lives at risk to make more money for Conoco and Exxon? Did they fuck...
1
I really love Prof Wolff, and Noam Chomsky. I would love to see them work out their disagreement on this.
1
This is what Trump meant when he said, on camera, to a room of healthcare execs who were telling him that a vaccine is a year away "Well, I think in many ways treatment might be more exciting." He could see it was a huge profit opportunity for the healthcare industry, while tens of thousands were dying.

Crucial distraction. The European programs for paying 80% of wages only cover furloughed workers. If you cover active workers then it's just a massive giveaway to corporations. They must not get the money from the government AND the labor else it's just pumping up corporate profits and the public money goes into the pockets of the rich. And btw I am a business owner in the UK. We aren't using this scheme and we aren't firing workers either.
1
It's like Jimmy's guest pointed out the other day. Even FDR had to be forced into action by workers, socialists and communists. They went on strikes over and over. FDR was sympathetic but he wouldn't have done anything if he hasn't been forced to. So step 1, elect the least bad people, and then step 2, take to the streets. Nothing else will work. As Chris Hedges said, you have to pit power against power. If workers don't harness and flex their actual power, with strikes, nothing will change.
1
Pretty sure the cops learned that trick of ploughing through crowds in their vehicle from ISIS terrorists...
1
AOC said on Democracy Now that she "couldn't vote for the bill" Which doesn't mean she voted against. I am guessing that she abstained.
1
Cameron Lockard Yes I think you're right
1
Chalk another one up to Chomsky's propaganda model of the political economy and mass media. ✅
1
Ken Lewis There is at least a progressive wing of the Democratic Party fighting to get out. If we get Bernie as the nominee and a bunch more AOCs winning primaries then there might well be hope yet. The one the establishment Dems can't fight is a mass movement that openly hates them, and it's starting to happen.
1
She will go far. Because the system is so corrupt and dysfunctional.
1
Where's the evidence Jimmy? C'mon. There is none. You can speculate, sure, but don't create a story when you have no basis for it. You decided to answer your question without evidence. No good. Tulsi just isn't as great as you thought.
1
8:13 100% THIS Democrats should be ashamed and humiliated that Trump even stood a chance of beating them. But of course they are so unbelievably corrupted and entitled that they cannot go there mentally. The fact that the GOP couldn't put up a non-joke candidate like him tells you how bankrupt and deranged they have become.
1
The (state run) train from Paris to Brussels goes every 30 minutes and takes 1hr23. But sure, you need to fly or drive because AMERICA!!
1
The DNC must be fucking psychopathic to send this senile old man into battle against Trump. It's basically elder abuse. Oh and they know he will lose so basically they are saying fuck you to the people and the planet.
1
The BBC has a bad habit of platforming some real scumbags. It's really revolting. They have people like Frum and Dershowitz on and treat them with sickening reverence 🤮
