  1. It would be a good start if they could prove that Jesus actually existed. The extra-biblical evidence that he actually existed is really weak. How do you cancel a myth?

  2. I may be misremembering my Chomsky, but ISTR that as the founding fathers go, Jefferson has some good points. He wasn't a fan of what we call capitalism. He thought that men should only acquire wealth through their work. It was fans of Locke who thought that acquisition of land and "mixing labor and the land" should be the root of wealth (ie extermination of the indigenous peoples and stealing their land) who were the founders of American capitalism. And Jefferson wasn't actually one of those guys. That was Madison etc. Just sayin.
