  1. The TUC long ago accepted the Faustian bargain with neoliberal capitalism. They took the bait that growth would mean increasing living standards for all and looked the other way as inequality and extreme wealth grew. O'Grady was personally responsible for a lot of that strategy. If it wasn't clear 20 years ago, it's now obvious that the role of organised labour is to constrain the power of capital. They failed to do that. They acquiesced to capital and now we are paying the price.
