@paulwei6596 it's called framing. The discussion is immediately framed in the context of a hostile China potentially going to war with the US. Never mind the fact that it's the US that has its warships off the coast of China, that it's the US that is sending senior legislators to Taiwan when it knows how inflammatory that it, when it's the US that is constantly talking about the military threat of China to the world even though the US has 800 overseas bases, spends 8x what China spends on defence and has been at war overseas for all but 20 years of its history...

@paulwei6596 to be honest though, most of the world has been most worried of the US for many years. And European countries brutally colonised most of the world during the last 4 centuries so again, most of the world has a reason to dislike European countries like the U.K.. Not to mention nor recent crimes like the Iraq war and the destruction of Libya. All to say that there is nothing special about the Chinese people becoming sceptical about the west on the international stage. We have plenty to be ashamed of.

@paulwei6596 hmm, I suspect it's that the US doesn't want a challenge to its global hegemony and so it's spoiling for a way to hurt China. The defence establishment in the US are actual lunatics. They think that nuclear war is winnable. That's why they are not even vaguely interested in trying to end the Ukraine war. Too much money being made by the military industrial complex and too little care about escalation and nuclear war.

@paulwei6596 i Hope you are now safe wherever you are. I know Xi is getting more repressive on Chinese citizens but I am not sure what he is doing internationally that is especially dangerous. Am I missing something?

@paulwei6596 I can well believe that. I am left thinking that he mainly a threat to the Chinese people, rather than international peace and security.
