  2. Daniel Bostock In fact, the evidence shows that they rarely do. Criminals generally rationalise the risk of committing crime by thinking that they will get away with it. With crimes of passion, they don't think past the next 5 seconds. The things that actually reduce crime are investment on rehabilitation in prison, investment in poor areas and investment in skills and training. Also, legalising drugs has cut drug-related crime by up to 80% in Portugal and Uruguay, AND cuts drug harm. So if you want a better society, then harsh justice fails.

  4. Lewis Esposito Well, it has a trillion dollars in oil money stashed away and a tiny population. It also takes laws from the EU every day as it's in the single market via the EEA. They call it "legislation by fax machine" :) But it's a wonderful country for sure. I know it well. Very egalitarian. They take good care of their environment and each other. And very beautiful.
