  1. Dominic Brady Yes that's what I was thinking. He has watched humans destroy more than half the wildlife on the planet on the planet, often in service of profit and he stays so reticent to call it out. I think he is just very conservative and doesn't like the thought of big change in society. I thought it was striking that when he answered the question about what go go wrong, he didn't mention any effects on the natural world. Frankly, when the whole planet is on course for inexorable decline and he thinks that government can't do anything quickly, then when do we get to make big changes at speed?

  3. Koopy Sandwich I think he is old enough to speak his mind though - don't you think. He is wanting for money and he probably only has a few good years left (which is of course regrettable). If he did have stronger views to air then if not now, when?

  4. Joel WW Maybe but many in the Beeb are notionally left wing, but they are up to their eyes in establishment bias. That effectively makes them centrist, a bit neoliberal but with a huge dose of cultural liberalism on issues like women, LGBT etc
