@michaelschmidt9708 You say that like it's a scary thing. You miss the fact that many have lost faith in capitalism and they want a real socialist alternative. Capitalism is a root cause of climate and environmental destruction. It's perfectly reasonable to question and oppose it.

@michaelschmidt9708 Again, you are just showing that you don't know what socialism is (it comes in many forms) and how it coexists with other systems like capitalism. Socialism is a very broad term that covers any popular ownership and operation of enterprises and industry. That can be at state level or municipal level or at the level of individual enterprises in the form of worker coops. Unless you actually own a company, then I don't understand why you are so supportive of capitalism - a system that systematically concentrates wealth and power in the hands of a tiny minority and commoditises everything and everyone to the point that it is threatening the future of our civilisation. I wonder what would actually convince you that there might be a better alternative... Btw I actually do part own and run a company and even I can see that we can and most do better than capitalism.

@michaelschmidt9708 Like it doesn't work in Sweden and Denmark? Like it doesn't work in Portugal or the coops of Spain and Italy? Even Cuba has a higher life expectancy than the USA despite being under crippling sanctions. If you think Venezuela = Socialism then you know almost nothing about socialism. Besides, as I pointed out, capitalism is failing (again) right before our eyes. We have a climate crisis that is literally threatening the end of organised human life on the planet and all you can think is "Venezuela tho". You are a victim of the propaganda that has led people to think that it's "easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism". That should make you stop and think about what you believe.

@tpower1912 Where did I say that two large capitalist corporations are socialist? Socialist institutions can exist within a broadly capitalist political economy. Just like capitalist corporations existed while feudalism was still the dominant system.
