  1. Who cares what you call it. A semi automatic rifle can kill dozens of people, in minutes, with ease. Try doing that with a stick without being stopped. Dangerous people should not get guns, of course, so more screening and background checks, restoration of the controls on the mentally ill that Trump scrapped last year, and control of hand to hand sales are all needed. And more money going into mental care services (can you picture the GOP voting for more spending on something like that coz I can’t). But just like automatic weapons were banned, semi automatic weapons should be banned as well, for the same reasons.

  2. Bill Crowder This is almost the most stupid argument that get used by the gun lobby. How many people died due to cars being used as weapons last year in terrorist attacks? I think it was less than 30 in all of Europe, with 500M people. How many people did guns kill last year in he US with 330M people? 12000+. What “other way” would this psycho have found to kill 17 people? What “other way” would the Las Vegas shooter have found to kill 58 and injure over FIVE HUNDRED? Guns like AR15s are killing machines.

  3. Bill Crowder I pointed how many people were killed deliberately by vehicles last year. You made my point. There are other ways to die other than being shot, so what? Cars, bicycles, buzz saws, swimming pools, etc etc are not designed to cause death but they can and do. Guns are designed to cause death. And in the US people use them for that purpose and more successfully to achieve that purpose than any other thing they can lay their hands on.
