Romania lost 20% of its population after joining EU as more people left the country as it was easy to leave by being EU member so being in EU has its drawback too

@ady007b Brain drain in Romania made the government invest less in education as they are not going to benefit from educated labor anyway so why bother invest there and businesses that relies on expensive and educated workers moved to other countries as it doesn't make sense to pay higher salaries in country like Romania compared to just moving to countries like Germany where the salaries are already high but with better services and infrastructures and richer consumers The remaining businesses rely on services that require cheap labor like construction and tourism and restoration.... Certain services like healthcare and th military and some government services do require high qualified workers but they are small in comparison to private sector Free market means also the ability to move your job or business to another location if you want to You don't like your salary in Napoli then move to Milan , Your business doesn't make profit in Bulgaria then move to Berlin
