The US doesn't need to raise taxes Just cut the military spending by 70% and that should be enough to pay for healthcare and education and and welfare and everything and the rich won't even have to worry about paying more taxes

@GrimdarkKing It goes to the pockets of CEOs and lites and corrupt politicians in USA and other countries Soldiers and veterans have terrible pay and lives too The money also brings misery and death to tens of millions of people worldwide every year Ethically and economically is very harmful

@GrimdarkKing US spends 800 billion $ per year on military 300 billions $ is more than enough to protect US soil There are 2 big oceans for any invader to overcome before reaching US and 5000 nukes Do you know how powerful nuclear bombs are ? Do you think any army can defeat USA even with 40% of its current budget ? Do you know how complicated is to get an army to cross the mighty Atlantic ocean or Pacific Ocean the logistics alone are crazy and no other country can achieve it USA spends on military more than the next 10 armies combined despite the advantageous geographic protection it has and the nukes it has ? US active forces alone is 2 millions soldiers but 1 million is more than enough to protect it let alone the reserves Cutting off 60% of the military budget will never make US military security vulnerable at all There are no negative consequences for cutting off military spending but there are a lot of positive results when you free up 500 billions $ per year to be spent on American citizens Enough to make education and healthcare free for everyone and housing cheaper
