  7.  @ad_astra468  That was tried before in Denmark Hungary Finland and Norway and some other countries but all of them failed Hungary had less failure than others as they are the only ones who had an increase in fertility rate but it was already 1.3 and took them 11 years to reach 1.5 but it is way below replacement rate of 2.1 so it's still an aging population The cost of those policies is unsustainable too especially for eastern Europe The main reason for declining birth rates is cultural not economic That's why the highest fertility rates in the world are in Sahel countries Niger 7.1 (the highest in the world and the only country above 7 kids per woman and 50% of its population is under 14) Mali 5.7 Borkina Faso 5.9 Chad 5.8 Nigeria 5.4 ....
