The problem is that every day Ukraine loses so many soldiers ( by dozens or hundreds depends on the situation but it's 300 on average either killed or permanently disabled ) while Russia is also losing so many soldiers every day they can keep it up for another decade at least Ukraine is running out of manpower and while they can replace lost weapons and ammo they can't replace soldiers especially the highly skilled and experienced ones Russia has 5 times more fighting age men than Ukraine and they have minded the frontline so heavily that it's impossible to breack through and they have networks of fortifications and trenches to stop Ukrainian soldiers Ukraine also has the lowest fertility rate in Europe and will suffer demographic collapse if the situation remains like that for long
