@Hellraiser Because now it isn't just the little guys, it's the most prominent people you can imagine, even when the target has led a blameless and public (well-documented) adult life. When it gets that big, and when Democrats are using this method to railroad their enemies openly, then it becomes a matter of survival and moral obligation to grind the Dems into oblivion as quickly as possible. That you can't see that speaks volumes for your partisan blindness.

Conservatives voted in droves to elect a majority Republican House in 2010. The problem was that as soon as those newly elected pols got to DC, big Democrats "took them under their wing" (there are photos), wined and dined them, and within a month those Republicans had turned their backs on their constituents. It's different, now; Obama is gone, McCain is dead, many of the former Democrat powerhouses are gone or have lost a lot of their influence, and Trump is in office. MAGA, baby!
