stickjohnny After the NDAA was passed allowing Stalinesque treatment of American citizens, I figure that the only thing holding back all-out totalitarianism is the reluctance of the government to go that far. On the other hand, how do we know it hasn't? I've always read that 100,000 people disappear every year, so if 200,000 disappear, would we notice the difference? 1,000,000? That's fewer than 1 of every 300 people in the US. We could be in the middle of a purge and not even know it. I'm not saying that we are, just that it would be easy for the government right now to disappear millions of us and we probably wouldn't even look up from our phones.
I contacted every member of Congress from my state, regarding the NDAA, and every Republican supported it, giving me gibberish about "law and order". Such crap. The Republicans of the Establishment are just as big-government and just as power-mad as the Democrats. The only solution as I see it is to hold onto our 2nd amendment rights no matter what happens in Washington, and to get as much new blood in Congress as possible. And keep changing them out. Don't let any of them get comfortable or develop roots there.
