  1. The private sector already pays much less than the government. It's been the case for decades. Work for a public school in administration; they pay astronomically more than secretarial or management jobs in the private sector. Even the janitors get paid hugely more than the same job in the private sector, and the benefits are golden. My brother-in-law worked in scheduling for our university museum; he retired recently with a $5,000/month income from his investments without touching the principal, and not including his retirement benefit from the state. He was on the state government's retirement program, not social security, so even that income is 3 times more than it would be on social security.
