  2. Not in my state. We have a Republican governor and legislature in my midwestern farming state, but the police and sheriff's departments are completely corrupt statewide. The saying here is that whatever happens, don't call the cops or somebody will end up dead. They shot an unarmed guy sitting in his chair in his living room in the tiny little town 10 miles away. In my town, they shot an unarmed 17 year old kid who took off with his dad's truck. The dad just wanted his truck back; he got a dead son. The fuckers are trigger happy and the so-called investigations always exonerate the cops. They even beat up female shoplifters in front of their small children during questioning; it was videotaped. The cops aren't on the side of the people; they're on nobody's side but the guys in power.
