Leijla Foss It did work when Reagan did it. The economy was a disaster from Carter. I know, I was there. Reagan breathed life back into it, and it stayed on a pretty healthy level until Clinton started tinkering. Then the economy took a nosedive; of course, the media and the Democrats didn't blame Clinton, they blamed Bush, which was a laugh riot because Bush hadn't even taken office, yet. Draconian regulations puts a monkey wrench into the process even when taxes are lower. The volatile tax rate also discourages businesses from investing back into businesses here in America because they can't trust the government not to hold them up at gunpoint from one year to the next. Look at Denmark; they are far more business friendly than the US - lower business taxes and lower regulations - because they know that capitalism fuels their government. Denmark loves its government programs, but you don't have revenue for government programs (or government, period) without healthy businesses providing the revenue. The US government, on the other hand, has been determined to strangle the business sector every which way from Sunday.
