  3. I feel the same way. Our household income is over the poverty line, but people we know on welfare live better than we do. They have new cars, their rent is subsidized, the amount they receive in food stamps is eye-popping, free healthcare and vision care, they go to Vegas on vacation, etc. I haven't had a vacation since 2005. Our only car is 16 years old. Their apartments are nicer than our little house, which needs maintenance that we can't afford. But our taxes pays for their lives. What's the point?
