Wages in Russia are about 1/3 what they average in the US, and their cost of living is proportionally lower.

Me, too. The Walmart in our neighborhood had a smaller store that they tore down to build a superstore. It's too big. You practically need to pack a lunch to walk from one end to the other.

The average wage in Russia is about 1/3 of the average wage in the US. The cost of living is proportionally lower. Rent is lower, food prices are lower, etc.

@all.day.day-dreamer Russia is almost entirely self-sufficient. Why do you think that they'll have bad inflation when they produce their own food? Russia produces about half the fertilizer in the world, too, so they don't have to worry. Worry about yourself. The price of red meat has doubled in the midwest in the last year and a half. Why? I live where they raise hogs, but pork chops are now as expensive as steak was in 2020. Somebody's getting rich.

It doesn't really matter except for imported goods or tourists. I've been to the UK twice, with wildly different currency conversion rates. It didn't make any difference to the people living there, just to me as a tourist.

What do you think you know? Go read some books or something, child.

Russia is almost entirely self-sufficient. Worry about yourself. Russia manufactures about half the fertilizer in the world. What are OUR farmers going to do?
