They do most of the international day to day diplomatic work for the UK; that's why Meghan Markle called them civil servants in a tiara and looked down her nose at them. (She wanted the perks without the work.) They promote UK businesses on a daily basis. They help to run hundreds of charities. Princess Anne alone is president or patron of 300 charities and is Chancellor of the University of London and the University of Edinburgh. What do YOU do with your time, sit on your thumb, I'll bet?

  5. I have a hard time believing that the Queen was angry with Diana for upstaging her with a very modest hairdo. She was the Queen, for god's sake. And how was Diana supposed to know that the press would make such a big deal over a tiny detail like that? Unless I hear it from the mouth of another family member, I will continue to believe that upbraiding Diana over it was all Margaret's idea; Margaret is the only person who said anything to Diana about it. She was just the type of woman who would be offended by such a thing.

  7. Right, if you're talking about Diana. She was not a commoner. Diana was Lady Diana Spencer before she even met Charles; her father was an earl, a title of noble rank. Her grandmothers were both ladies in waiting to Charles' grandmother.

  11. The Church of England didn't allow divorce back then. You could get a civil divorce, but you would still be married in the eyes of the Church. Therefore, marrying a person whose former spouse was still living was bigamy in religious terms. Since the monarch is the head of the Church of England, and since a church wedding was de rigueur in the royal family (and for most people back then), a royal marrying a divorced person was just not the thing. A sin and a serious breach of protocol and tradition. It was bigamy in my church, too. I got divorced in 1990 and was shunned by my former "friends"; some of them would cross to the other side of the street when they saw me.

  14. That's a disgusting thing to say, and the thing you're implying is untrue. A lot of people knew Epstein as a top-notch wall street broker and investment counselor. Epstein started out as an assistant to a Wall Street trader. Within a year, he was one of Wall Street's top traders himself, and within four years he was made a partner in one of Wall Street's best firms. He started his own investment service that catered to billionaires exclusively. He made rich people much richer; that's why everyone wanted to know him. Epstein's sleazy side was a secret except to a very few people, for obvious reasons.

What was she supposed to do, run around with a bag over her head so that she wouldn't offend them by being so beautiful? They should've been kissing the ground she walked on that she brought some good-looking genes into the family tree.
