There's a young American black man who made a video discussing African culture. He said that in places like Somalia, if your relative has more than you do, you have the right to rob him blind. This attitude is so pervasive that if a Somalian wants to build a successful business, he has to completely leave the country and start his business elsewhere just to prevent his relatives from stealing everything he has. When these people move to other countries, they carry this attitude with them, and even in America it prevents Somalian families from ever getting ahead. They can't see that they're hurting themselves in the long run. At any rate, we have the same problem in the US where shoplifting isn't punished, and again, the shopkeepers are blamed when they close up and move out of the area.
